My wife, Jenifer (Langosch) Segal, grew up near Atlanta and graduated from the University of Missouri. We started dating in October 2007, but lived six hours apart until July 2015. Four months after I joined her in St. Louis, we got married on Nov. 15, 2015. We welcomed our daughter, Audrey, on March 7, 2018.
Jen and I met through professional baseball. She was covering the Pittsburgh Pirates for MLB.com, and I was handling media relations for their Triple-A affiliate in Indianapolis. After more than 12 years as a baseball beat writer, including seven-plus seasons covering the St. Louis Cardinals, my wife is now a senior content manager for MLB.com. A love for sports and writing are two of the many interests we share.
But our daughter is the true love of our lives. As one who constantly moves and never stops talking, Audrey keeps us on our toes. She is Mickey Mouse’s #1 fan. She’s also a very good eater (big kid!) and terrific sleeper (thank goodness!). We are incredibly fortunate to have a happy and healthy little one.
Now, let me introduce you to more of our family…

My Mom & Dad — Carol & Elliott
Residents of Indianapolis
After starting her career in early childhood education, Mom has been a librarian for more than 20 years. She loves all kinds of movies and attends many sporting events each year. Dad, a retired high school teacher, spent more than 40 years in the education field. He has worked on the Indiana Pacers scorer’s table since 1983 and spent 20 years as an athletics event supervisor at my high school. They are both graduates of Ball State University.

My Brother & His Family — Bobby, Rachel, Asher, Lilly & Jacob
Residents of Fort Branch, Ind. (north suburb of Evansville)
My brother, who has been involved with college and/or professional baseball every year since 2003, is the hitting coach for the Frontier League’s Evansville Otters. He also conducts private youth lessons in the off-season. My sister-in-law has owned a dental practice in Princeton, Ind., since 2015. They are both graduates of Indiana University. Bobby and Rachel have three children — Asher (born 8-25-15), Lilly (born 8-31-17) and Jacob (born 1-31-20).

My In-Laws — Tammy & Rick
Residents of Woodstock, Ga. (north suburb of Atlanta)
My mother-in-law has been an elementary school special education teacher for many years. My father-in-law has worked in financial services for the healthcare industry over multiple decades. My in-laws thoroughly enjoy international travel. They have been to multiple continents and a countless number of countries. They are both graduates of Eastern Illinois University.

My Sister-In-Law & Her Family — Juli, Nick, Mikayela & Jones
Residents of Kenner, La. (west suburb of New Orleans)
My sister-in-law is an elementary school special education teacher. My brother-in-law is an information technology specialist. Juli and Nick have two children — Mikayela (born 7-1-09) and Jones (born 10-23-19). My sister-in-law and niece love Alabama Crimson Tide football and the New Orleans Saints.
